Kensington Tours has expanded its portfolio with new family, multigenerational, slow travel and wellness-focused journeys shaped by client demand and market data. Industry surveys, including one from IMG Global, show that roughly one-third of family trips are now multigenerational, with summer itineraries trending toward longer stays, private guides and experiences that balance learning, cultural immersion and downtime.
“Multigenerational travel continues to shape how families plan vacations, particularly for longer summer trips,” said Helen Giontsis, President of Kensington, in a press statement. “Both internal and industry research show that more families are traveling with grandparents, parents, and children together, prioritizing destinations and itineraries that can accommodate a wide range of interests, mobility levels, and travel styles. In addition, we are seeing that families are booking major trips further in advance to secure preferred accommodations, guides, and exclusive access experiences.”

In Italy, family itineraries feature exploration with flexible pacing. Rome includes a self-guided gelato crawl and a guided Colosseum visit paired with gladiator training. Florence adds a city tour combined with a pizza-making class, while Venice includes a gondola ride and a mask scavenger hunt. The expanded Ultra Luxe Italy portfolio focuses on private access, including an archaeologist-led Colosseum visit, a vintage Alfa Romeo drive along the Appian Way, a Chef’s Table on the Amalfi Coast and a private yacht sail around Capri and the Li Galli Islands.
In Japan, the new family program moves between Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and Osaka. Travelers participate in an anime workshop, cruise Lake Ashi on a pirate-style ship, learn samurai sword dance in Kyoto and explore Osaka’s Shinsekai district with a local food guide.
Greece itineraries range from Unseen Greece: A Hidden Island Getaway—a 12-day ultra-luxe trip through Athens, Paros, Mykonos, and Milos—to Greece’s Peloponnese: Athens to Arcadia, which includes stops in Nafplio, Olympia and Sparta, ending up in the mountain villages of Arcadia.
In the Americas, Costa Rica Rainforest to Beach for Families includes hanging bridges, wildlife viewing, farm visits, volcano treks and beach downtime in Manuel Antonio. The Costa Rica Wellness Escape for Couples offers slower-paced activities, thermal waters, catamaran cruises and curated dining near Arenal.
New Zealand Family Vacation visits Auckland, Rotorua and Queenstown, combining adventure and culture through Hobbiton, Waitomo caves, Maori traditions and kayaking in the South Island.
Kensington’s global expansion also introduces Personal Heritage Journeys in partnership with AncestryProGenealogists, with routes through Ghana and European destinations including Poland, Germany, Scotland and Italy.
For slow travel trends, the Swiss Alpine Villages & Bernina Express connects Zurich, St. Moritz, and Lake Como via Chur and Arosa’s Bear Sanctuary. Southeast Asia Explorer & Mekong River Cruise includes land touring through Hanoi and Cambodia with a 7-night Mekong sailing operating August through April.
